ReplyDeleteHere's an idea: if you read Caryn Musil's essay in the AAC&U pub on women contingent faculty http://www.aacu.org/ocww/volume37_3/director.cfm, she refers to contingent faculty as "red blood cells on reserve." Nice metaphor, I think. We are literally the lifeblood of the university: without us, it cannot survive. So: let's wear red on April 30. What do you think?
