Movie Marathon: #Labor & #Adjunct Organizing…#NormaRae & #KeithHoeller

…A film festival! Let's make a marathon out of it. More from Barbara Wolf's A Simple Matter of Justice, plus classic labor movies. Here's a 2013 list from Freelancers Union by Sara Horowitz:
... [of t]he best labor-related movies that'll make you want to fight for the underdog. Who doesn’t love movie night? People often ask me about my favorites, so I’ve put together a list of my top labor-related movies. Many of them are based on actual events. Of course they’ve been dramatized, Hollywood-style, but they're still great stories. Documentaries will come next. Enjoy!
.... Norma Rae (1979), this one's for @mmstrikesback

...unfortunately most are just trailers. I found a full length On the Waterfront but the sound quit around 1:08 in and you miss Brando's "I coulda been a contenda" speech (that's so many of us, isn't it?). The rest of the list includes F.I.S.T (1978) -- Sylvester Stallone; The Mollie Maguires (1970) -- Sean Connery and Richard Harris; Matewan (1987) -- Chris Cooper and James Earl Jones; Germinal (1993) -- In French with subtitles and Gerard Depardieu -- plus a few more recommendations in comments.

A Simple Matter of Justice, Chapter 1, NKU: Supportive Administration (Kentucky)
Northern Kentucky University had a president who believed that part-time faculty should be treated with respect, dignity and parity.

Watch for Keith Hoeller in Chapter 3, Mader et al v. State: Lawsuit (Washington), part-timers in Seattle, Washington sued the state.
